Why Believe
in
Creation?

 
 

On February 12, 2006, 412 “churches” in 49 states will “Celebrate Evolution Sunday.” This event is designed to convince Christians that evolution and the Christian faith are completely compatible. I delivered this sermon to show how evolution and Christianity are not compatible and that an honest reading of the Bible actually rebuts the claims of the evolutionist.

The issue of evolution is extremely important. It relates to the foundation of what we teach at Institute on the Constitution. Evolution is the starting point for the pagan view of law and government. Creation is the foundation of our Founder’s view of law and government, a Biblical world view.

As our Founders clearly stated in the Declaration of Independence, “all men … are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” Our rights come from our Creator not from civil government. If we were not created, if we all evolved out of that slim in the swamp, then we have no Creator, and therefore no unalienable rights. That is why the pagan view of government which rejects a Creator ultimately results in tyranny. If there is no Creator, then the one with the most guns controls everyone else. The subjects only have the liberties the tyrant chooses to temporarily allow them to have.

Our task is to teach the Biblical view of law and government that was expounded by our Founders in order to Restore our Republic. To that end I offer this sermon to help equip true patriots in refuting the Lie of Evolution.

A note on the audio file format: it was created in the new Motion Picture Experts Group 4--Advanced Audio Coding (AAC) format and has an .m4a extension. The audio file is approximately 35MB for the high bandwidth user's version. A smaller, but slightly lower quality version is available for those using a dial up connection to access the internet. This file is only 4-5 MB in size. If you have Microsoft's Media player you should now be able to play them as a data stream without having to first download them to your hard drive. Macintosh users can open these streams in iTunes or download the audio file first and add it to your iTunes library to listen to again and again.
